Israel's Cabinet Finalizes Gush Katif Compensation

The Cabinet voted Sunday to approve a 300 million shekel agreement that ends the claims for compensation by evacuees from Gush Katif and Northern Samaria.
The 300-million shekel ($87-million) agreement ends the claims for compensation by evacuees from Gush Katif and Northern Samaria.
Agriculturalists who had land in Gush Katif and have not yet received land will receive additional compensation of 400,000 shekels or a monthly payment of 3,400 shekels for 13 years. Alternatively, eligible for agricultural land of up to 40 dunams (about 10 acres) in accordance with the previous rules.
