Arab journalist, Khaled abu Toameh challenges, "What Does "Pro-Palestinian" Really Mean?"

In recent years there has been a significant rise in the number of non-Palestinians who describe themselves as “pro-Palestinian” activists. These people can be found mostly on university campuses in North America and Europe.

What is striking is that many of these “pro-Palestinian” activists have never been to the Middle East, let alone the West Bank or the Gaza Strip. In most cases, they are not even Arabs or Muslims.

What makes them “pro-Palestinian”?

In their view, inciting against Israel on a university campus or publishing “anti-Zionist” material on the Internet is sufficient to earn them the title of “pro-Palestinian.” But what these folks have not realized is that their actions and words often do little to advance the interests of the Palestinians. In some instances, these actions and words are even counterproductive.

It is hard to see how organizing events such as “Israel Apartheid Week” on a university campus could help the cause of the Palestinians. Isn’t there already enough anti-Israel incitement that is being spewed out of Arab and Islamic media outlets?

If anyone is entitled to be called “pro-Palestinian,” it is those who are publicly campaigning against financial corruption and abuse of human rights by Fatah and Hamas. Those who are trying to change the system from within belong to the real “pro-Palestinian” camp.

These are the brave people who are standing up to both Fatah and Hamas and calling on them to stop killing each other and start doing something that would improve the living conditions of their constituents.

Instead of investing money and efforts in organizing Israel Apartheid Week, for example, the self-described “pro-Palestinians” could dispatch a delegation of teachers to Palestinian villages and refugee camps to teach young Palestinians English. Or they could send another delegation to the Gaza Strip to monitor human rights violations by the Hamas authorities and help Palestinian women confront Muslim fundamentalists who are trying to limit their role to cooking, raising children and looking after the needs of their husbands.

Here is an idea: Let’s substitute Israel Apartheid Week with Palestine Democracy Week, where Palestinians would be urged and encouraged to demand an end to financial corruption and bad government.

The “pro-Palestinian” activists in the West clearly do not care about reforms and good government in the Palestinian territories. As far as these activists are concerned, delegitimizing Israel and inciting against “Zionists” are much more important that pushing for an end to financial corruption and violence in Palestinian society.

Telling the world how bad and evil Israel and the Jews are does not help the Palestinians as much as demanding good government and encouraging the emergence of young and “clean” leadership in the Palestinian territories.

If the “pro-Palestinian” camp in the West were investing a similar amount of its anti-Israel efforts in promoting moderation and civil society among Palestinians, it would be doing them a great service.

Shouting anti-Israel slogans or organizing Israel Apartheid Week in the US and Canada does not necessarily make a person “pro-Palestinian.”

But promoting good government and reform in the Palestinian territories does make one “pro-Palestinian.”

Being anti-Israel does not necessarily turn one into “pro-Palestinian.” On the other hand, promoting coexistence, peace and good government would be more beneficial to the Palestinians.

The Palestinians do not need students and professors on university campuses to tell them that Israel is bad. They have already had enough of this incitement from Hamas, Fatah and other Arab media outlets and leaders.

It is time for the “pro-Palestinian” camp in the West to reconsider its policies and tactics. It is time for this camp to listen to the authentic voices of the Palestinians – those that are shouting day and night that the Palestinians want good leaders and an end to lawlessness, anarchy and financial corruption.

Obama facilitating pro-Islamist Brzezinski/Baker policy; Appoints regime's lobbyist in charge of precluding Iran nuclear weapons; Forces Israel to go it alone; Peres visits Brazil & Argentina ahead of Ahmadinejad & Abbas

President Obama reversed his announcement to snub visiting Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu while both visited the Jewish Federation Convention in DC. The President Israel's prime minister met behind closed doors, discussing U.S.-Israel ties, Iran and Mideast peace talks, according to a White House statement.

Obama's meeting Monday evening at the White House with Benjamin Netanyahu was closed to reporters, even omitting the standard photo opportunity and hand shake.

The White House statement following the meeting was unusually terse: "The President and Prime Minister Netanyahu discussed a number of issues in the U.S.-Israel bilateral relationship. The President reaffirmed our strong commitment to Israel's security, and discussed security cooperation on a range of issues. The President and Prime Minister also discussed Iran and how to move forward on Middle East peace." (JTA News)

Pres. Obama replaced Dennis Ross at State with John Limbert to shift US to Brzezinski/Powers policy: facilitate Islamists' war against Jews in hope of appeasing Islamist imperialism

Ed Lasky published in the American Thinker: The New Iran Man at the State Department's Iran Desk
The key goal of the NIAC, as made clear in their master plan, is to place its supporters into key positions of power in Washington.

Their efforts have reached fruition: the National Iranian American Council now has one of their own as the Iran man (literally and metaphorically) at the State Department. The caviar is flowing in Tehran.

Read analysis available from Atlas Shrugs in "The Fix is In: Obama fires Dennis Ross and replaces him with an Iranian-regime lobbyist - John Limbert."
"This is it. As the evidence grew about Iran building bombs and warheads, Obama's team must have shown divisions.

Thus he removes the eyes who saw, Ross, (who is a Clintonian) and replaces him with an Iran regime lobbyist.

The Iran lobby, the NIAC, is a regime presence within the USA. Led by a famous Brzezinski-endorsed Iranian antisemite who blames Israel for Iran-US tensions and denies Ahmadinejad said "wipe off the map".

Basically Obama has handed over the Iran negotiations to an Iranian regime agency. This is grotesque and shows Obama's determination to avoid confronting Iran at all costs (the only thing actually capable of saving his lame duck presidency). He is willing to sacrifice his own future for the advancement of Iranian interests and the reduction of supposed Israeli/Jewish influence. The dogma he tends to believe having Powers and Brzezinski around him and him favoring their views over the more sensible Hilary/Ross camp.

This is time for Hilary and Holbrooke to stand up and resign from this treasonous line up. Even Carter had plans to invade Iran in 1981. Despite people like Vance opposing it. Vance resigned because Carter choose the military option to rescue the hostages."

Why is Israel’s Shimon Peres in Brazil and Argentina? Iran.
For the first time in 40 years, an Israeli president is paying a state visit to Brazil. Israel President Shimon Peres began a week-long visit to Brazil and Argentina today. A key reason: Iran's growing influence in Latin America. (The Christian Science Monitor)
Whose backyard is Latin America now?

That’s the question that a flurry of leaders seem to be trying to answer on a series of visits to the region this month. Israeli President Shimon Peres began his week-long jaunt to Brazil and Argentina today with the stated purpose to “discuss the Iranian infiltration of the continent, opportunities to strengthen political and strategic ties between the countries, and how to increase economic cooperation.”

He’s right on time. The first state visit by an Israeli president to Brazil in 40 years and to Argentina in 20 comes just weeks before an expected trip by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the end of this month. Brazilian officials also say Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas may visit them this month. Since Ahmadenijad was elected in 2005, Iran has opened new embassies in Colombia, Nicaragua, Chile, Uruguay, Ecuador, and Boliva – and added ones to Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and Venezuela, according to the Washington Post.

"A God Who Hates" distinguishes Islam from other faiths, reveals Syrian ex-Muslim psychiatrist, Dr. Wafa Sultan

Psychiatrist Dr. Wafa Sultan, author of "A God Who Hates," explains that Islam differs from Christianity. Islam requires total submission to both a political, as well as a spiritual, dogma - including obligations against non-believers.

Saudi-funded, fundamentalist teachings, prevalent throughout the non-Arab world, such as Indonesia and the West, preach violence against "Allah's enemies," and that getting killed as a martyr is the certain route to eternal paradise. Mosques in the West teach intimidation towards conquest of disbeliever societies (the West) toward the goal of spreading Islamic domination over those societies.

Dr. Sultan explains the massacre conducted by Dr. Nidal Malik Hasan as a product of Saudi-controlled mosques throughout the world inculcating Jihad among otherwise rational professionals in a fundamentalists' crusade to dominate the world financially, politically, and spiritually.

U.S. Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan was not the first Islamist to do damage to America through his status in the military. Investigative journalist Peter Lance explains the story of Ali Mohamed in his book "Triple Cross" which he discusses on Fora.TV.

Israel's intercepts Iran's arms to Hezbollah for 30-days, 9,000 Israeli casualties war. 'Iran weapons ship proves Iran's support to terror groups' - Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu; Yet despite praise from Clinton, Obama refuses to meet with Bibi though both address same conference in Washington

Israel intercepted a ship delivering an Iranian weapons cache to Hezbollah today. The 500 tons of weapons that were being delivered for use against Israelis were 10 times more than the notorious Karine-A ship intercepted en route to deliver armaments to Palestinians 5-years ago.
"Iran is sending these weapons to terror organizations to harm Israeli cities and kill its citizens," PM Bibi Netanyahu said. "The time has come for the international community to exert real pressure on Iran to stop this criminal activity and to support Israel when it defends itself against these terrorists and their patrons."
Regarding those who may doubt Iran's continual support for terrorist organizations, the prime minister said, "Whoever still needed decisive proof that Iran continues to send weapons to terrorist organizations, received it today in a very clear and unequivocal way."   (JPost)
Captured Iranian arms ship 'tip-of-the-iceberg' of vast weapons sealift to Hezbollah

DEBKAfile's military and intelligence sources report that a mammoth arms train has been running to Hizballah for months via Egypt. They identify the ship which offloaded the arms shipment at the Egyptian port of Damietta, where it was picked up by the Francop as the Iranian Visea, which is now on its way from the British port of Felixtowe to Hamburg, Germany. An international operation is afoot to apprehend the Iranian ship as of Wednesday, Nov. 4, when Israeli naval forces commandeered the Francop with hundreds of tons of Iranian arms bound for the Lebanese Hizballah near Cyprus. The arms were unloaded at the Israeli naval base at Ashdod port.

Elder of Ziyon: Video of intercepted Hezbollah arms cache

To disguise its vast traffic of illicit arms to Lebanon, Iran has taken to using commercial "feeder" vessels which are frequently seen on regular tours around the Mediterranean ports and arouse little attention. By this route, Hizballah has received thousands of tons of arms and ammunition in the last few months.

IDF Press Spokesman's Conference at The Muqata
Despite Secy of State Hillary Clinton's praise for Israel's progress in mid-east peace negotiations, while PM Netanyahu will fly to Washington to address the UJC Convention (where US Pres. Obama will also be speaking) Mr. Obama has rejected Mr. Netanyahu's invitation to meet one another.  Ron Kampeas of JTA writes
If anything, pro-Israel insiders say, the relationship between the Obama and Netanyahu teams is on a good footing and improving. Obama's officials are pleased with the restrictions Israel has lifted in the West Bank; Israel backs Obama's strategy of containing Iran through engagement backed by the threat of far-reaching sanctions.

And the Israeli army and the U.S. European Command carried out a joint exercise Tuesday witnessed by Netanyahu, who called it "an expression of the meaningful relations between Israel and the United States."
So what's behind Obama's reluctance to meet Netanyahu?
Insiders suggested that the U.S. president still feels burned by the summit he had in September at the United Nations in New York with Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas that produced no results and led to sniping between the Israeli and Palestinians sides. Obama wants the promise of substance before another meeting takes place.

Documentary, "Conflict: the Power of Propaganda," explores Arab media campaign to de-legitimize Israel

In the new film "Conflict: The Power of Propaganda," director Chris Atkins goes behind the headlines and past the media bias against Israel to present a fair and realistic picture of what is happening in the Islamic conflict to conquer Israel.

The fast-paced documentary exposes rampant Palestinian propaganda and challenges viewers to recognize the calculated deception - and its ties to both extremism and terrorism on a global scale. Executive producer Joe Amaral and his filmmakers go inside the world of the Palestinian media, documenting how Palestinian propaganda seeks to rob the Jewish people of their rich history in the Land of Israel. Alarming video evidence shows how school children are taught and encouraged to aspire to kill Jews and to become suicide bombers.

Dennis Miller, Dennis Prager, Larry Elder, Michael Medved discuss the ramifications of Obama's Middle East policies for the West

KRLA radio hosted its annual Town Hall forum on November 1, 2009. The panelists, Dennis Miller, Dennis Prager, Larry Elder, Michael Medved in this video discuss the Obama Administration's foreign policy of obsessing on carving out a hostile, Arab-Palestinian country out of the heart of Israel - in dreams of appeasing Islamists (such as Jihadists, al-Qaeda, Saudi Arabia, Iran, or the PLO / P.A.). Obama Admin's warmth towards Islamic nations and distancing from Israel has signaled the Organization of the Islamic Conference to exploit the U.N. as a forum to pursue pariah-fying of Israel, to the detriment of the defense of free societies.
